I'm not going to lie...some aspects of healthy eating get a little expensive. If you're smart about how you shop you can really cut down on costs. I've been eating clean for so long that I truly believe I've mastered the budget.
My local organic CSA delivery service, Palmetto Organics, has been hugely beneficial for me (if you're in the Jax area, give Palmetto Organics a try! Tell them Juliann Paige sent you and you'll receive a discount on your first purchase- no I'm not an affiliate with them, I just love them that much and want you to love them too!). I'm able to get 2 weeks worth of fresh organic produce for less than $50- that's significantly cheaper than conventional produce at the supermarket. That frees up the grocery budget for the 'more expensive' items that I cook with often, like almond flour and nuts. Hopefully this will be a good resource and guide for you to shop healthy without breaking the bank!
And as I always say: Pay now or pay later (later being with disease- which is not only a financial burden but a physical & emotional one as well). You can feed a disease or prevent it- it's all depending on what you choose to eat.

Bakers Unsweetened Baking Chocolate Bars
Baker's Unsweetened Baking Chocolate $2.40 a bar at walmart
I prefer to find raw local honey from farmer's markets and supermarkets that carry local options- but for baking that can get to be very expensive. I've found huge containers of honey from Trader Joe's for $11 and usually keep that on hand for baking.
Black Bean & Lentil Pasta
For just $2-4 a bag you can find both black bean and lentil pasta at Trader Joes. I always stock up on these when I'm there. Snag some organic pasta sauce while you're there, you won't find any more affordable!
Trader Joe's Organic Virgin Coconut Oil: $5.99. They also have some very affordabily priced unfiltered extra virgin olive oil (otherwise, if they're out of it, I'll pick up Bragg's Unfiltered Olive Oil at the nearest health food store).
