I'm launching a new series on the blog (Safer Products Spotlight) in which I'll be featuring certain skin care, bath & beauty products in spotlight so you can learn more about safer beauty products to find the right products for you! In this edition I'm spotlighting Beautycounter's Cleansing Balm, the ultimate overachiever & multitasker. What is it? How do you use it? What skin type is this best for? These are all questions that will be answered here!
What is it?
Cleansing Balm melts into your skin to hydrate while it cleanses, removing makeup and other impurities but never stripping away moisture. With vitamin C to brighten the appearance of skin and raspberry and cranberry seed oils to hydrate, the formula can also be used as an intensely nourishing face mask. Bonus? You also get our reusable 100% muslin cloth, softer and easier on skin than a traditional washcloth.
How do you use it?
To Remove Makeup or Wash Face:
Use nightly. In light, circular motions, massage an almond-sized amount into skin, applying gentle pressure to cheeks, forehead, and eyebrows. Dampen cleansing cloth (included with cleansing balm) in hand-hot water to gently wipe off balm. Rinse skin thoroughly with cool water.
To Use as a Hydrating Mask:
Apply a tiny amount to clean skin over face and neck before going to sleep for a deep hydrating application. No need to rinse off.
What skin type is this best for?
For normal or acne prone skin use as a makeup removing/ facial wash.
For dry skin types use as an overnight hydrating mask.
For oily skin make sure to combine with a detoxifier such as washing with the Charcoal Cleansing Bar after using the cleansing balm to remove makeup.
Let's Talk Results:
100% of women showed a significant increase in skin hydration after eight hours, with an average increase of 25%. (Results based on independent, 24-hour, 25-subject, single-blind clinical and consumer perception study.)
