I'm always looking for new ways to be inspired by food. I feel strongly about food being a creative process, and when you start getting monotonous with your diet than you fall into a very unhealthy pattern. Our diets should range in colors and textures and shouldn't be limited to the same 10 produce items you pick up every week at the grocery store.

Smoothie bowls are essentially non-recipes. Just make the smoothie base you like best and add the toppings you have on hand. It's a great snack bowl, healthy and refreshing.
1/2 frozen banana
1/4 cup frozen cherries
1 scoop chocolate protein powder (Garden of Life RAW Organic)
Handful of fresh raspberries
Handful of fresh blueberries
2 heaping tablespoons hemp seeds
2 heaping tablespoons unsweetened coconut flakes
2 heaping tablespoons granola
Drizzle of raw organic local honey*
*Honey is controversial in the plant-based world. If it's raw, local and organic I don't take issue with it. I have formed a very solid relationship with a local bee keeper in the Florida Keys and approve of the way the bees are raised and treated. If you prefer not to eat honey just omit it or replace with some maple syrup.
Blend smoothie ingredients until smooth and pour into a bowl. Add toppings and enjoy!
