This is pretty much a non-recipe, which is basically the best type of recipe there is! Got apples? A crock-pot? Then you can make homemade, delicious and preservative free apple sauce! (I'm sure if you don't have a crock-pot you can just use the stove top, but then you have to linger around the kitchen to assure you don't burn the place down..)
Dash of water
Cinnamon, if desired
Peel apples and discard/compost/eat the peels.
Slice the apples into thin pieces, discard/compost/give the cores to the animals out back.
Place the sliced apples into the crock pot, add a dash of water (for 6 apples I use about 2 teaspoons water)
Turn the crock-pot on high for a couple hours, or low for double that.
Stir in some ground cinnamon and eat warm, it's the perfect dessert! Leftovers can be stored in the fridge.
