If I'm in a time crunch, this is a quick and yummy on the go drink-meal that usually ties me over for hours. It doesn't hurt that it tastes like a strawberry milkshake either!
1 small ripe banana (if you only have frozen, that works too)
1 cup strawberries (if you have frozen, that works too)
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
2 tablespoons organic unrefined coconut oil
2 tablespoons organic shelled hemp seed
3/4-1 cup liquid (either water or unsweetened coconut milk from the carton, or half of each)
1 scoop or one packet raw plant based vanilla protein powder of your choice
1 pitted date, optional (adds a little extra sweetness)
1/2 teaspoon diatomaceous earth, optional (it is very high in natural silica)
In a blender add the above ingredients. Blend on high until liquidy smooth, then blend an extra few seconds longer than you usually would to really break up the hemp seed. Pour into a glass, bottoms up!
