Tulsi is an herbal tea that has a range of benefits so vast it could fill a book....Also known as Holy Basil, this herbal brew is an old friend of mine. She is naturally calming, uplifting and nurturing. Gentle, soothing and subtly sweet. If you haven't already, it's time to welcome Tulsi into your life.
It's funny how if we tune into our body we can hear very clearly the things it wants. Lately I find myself gravitating towards Tulsi. Each night I make a cup before bed as part of my wind-down routine. And often, I even have a cup upon waking.
It is adaptogenic (meaning it helps the body adapt to chemical, physical, infectious and emotional stress), anti-inflammatory, high in antioxidant properties (which fight free radical damage by giving electrons to the free radicals and neutralizing them) and contains high amounts of vital nutrients like Vitamins A and C, calcium, zinc, iron and chlorophyll.
But Tulsi is just more than a compound of highly impressive nutrients. It is a tea that encourages a sense of calming, and it alleviates anxiety and depression. It fosters clear thoughts, relaxation and a sense of well-being. Tulsi can assist in digestion and improve liver health. And it is a wonderful nerve tonic to reduce nerve pain from fibromyalgia and chronic inflammation.
It's no wonder why my body has been asking for it so regularly.
