The things we ingest, the thoughts we think and the behaviors we develop.
2. External:
The toxins we are exposed to, the products we apply to our bodies and the cleaning chemicals we use in our homes.
3. Awareness & Education:
It's time to get critical. Start questioning everything. Become aware and re-educate.
The Key is to Simplify Your Health:
Learn - how products directly impact your health
Question - everything including ingredients in your food and products
Advocate - for your health
1. Learn
Get into the habit of reading product labels prior to making purchases and to researching companies and ingredients that you're unfamiliar with. Start utilizing free resources that aim in assisting you with healthy choice-making such as the EWG's Cleaning Living App, EWG health tips PDFs and with the information on this website.
2. Question
Question the status quo. Just because a food label, commercial or professional tells you something does not mean you should take it as fact. You need to be 100% confident in the ability to stand by, or against, what you're purchasing and putting in your body. It's important to be critical with your thoughts. You need to ask the often over-looked questions like "who's funding this study or product?". Is this overwhelming? Maybe a little at first. But then... it's empowering.
3. Advocate
You can officially become your own health advocate with the ability to research, learn and ask questions . This means standing up for your health and leaning on yourself for health information. It's OK to tell your doctor you need to do your own research. It's OK to go against the grain and form an unpopular decision. Being your own health advocate means you are committed to taking your well-being seriously. Because if you don't, no one will.
